Toffee (Chocolate covered)
this is a old recipe that my mom used to make with us as kids... we loved waiting for the chocolate to melt and dipping our fingers in it... my personal favorite was taking the hammer to it when it was ready to go.
what you'll need:
1 cup sugar
1 cup real butter
1 Tbs. corn syrup
chocolate chips
candy thermometer
melt butter. add sugar, water, and syrup. stirring, heat til about 290*
pour into greased 13x9 pan, let spread by it self. sprinkle chocolate chips over while hot... let melt about 2 minuts, then spread with knife. let cool completely, chocolate chips will harden.
break with hands or hammer gently.
